Bio

Ashok is a passionate Digital Transformation pracademic (an active practitioner and academic). Featured in “World’s 100 Most Influential People in Digital Government”, he has over 40 years of experience that spans across Public and Private sector organizations in Asia, both as an end-user and a service provider. He has architected, designed and project managed several large, scalable software development projects and technology solutions to deliver transformation and drive change. These projects ranged from manufacturing industry, to banking and government systems.

As a VP of Mach30, a startup entity, Ashok delivered several B2B e-commerce transaction engines for procurement fine-tuned to industries such as electronics manufacturing, marine products, and enterprise office-supplies. Judiciary digital transformation was awarded ASEAN’s Most Innovative Solution. It delivered an end-to-end paper-less electronic regime from submission of cases to court hearing. Design and delivery of a customer centric consolidated portfolio for Standard Chartered bank was instrumental in achieving market leadership of the bank. In recent years several projects in the region were delivered successfully using agile methods to deliver minimum viable products using AI/ML technologies and data analytics, many of which were scaled up to the national / enterprise level.

Prior to joining CMU, he was based in Singapore for over 3 decades working in several organisations such as the National University of Singapore heading up a leadership center, as a government CIO and as a project manager in technology service provider organisations. He has also worked in Hong Kong and India in leading and managing technology initiatives in Public Sector, Manufacturing and Financial sectors.

Ashok has delivered key-note speech and talks in international seminars and conferences that spanned countries such as Moscow, Argentina, India and several ASEAN countries. He has won several accolades such as NUS-ISS Teaching Excellence Award, EDS Inner Circle Award, Individual Contributor Excellence, and Excellence in Customer Service and has been a member for national level committees in Singapore.
