The Master of Software Engineering program, part of the Software and Societal Systems Department (S3D) is proud to help facilitate, design and deliver the certificate curriculum for the new Preceptorship for AI-accelerated Software Engineering (PRAISE), a partnership between Carnegie Mellon University and Microsoft designed to help early-career software engineers thrive in an AI-driven world.

Through PRAISE, Microsoft engineers combine workplace mentorship with CMU coursework that builds expertise in AI-augmented software development, machine learning in production, and secure software engineering practices. S3D faculty teach and administer the program, bringing together academic rigor and industry relevance to prepare engineers for the evolving demands of the profession.

By combining CMU's educational strengths with Microsoft's real-world engineering experience, PRAISE provides a model for continuous learning that helps software engineers develop the technical skills and judgment needed to successfully leverage AI throughout their careers.
