Bio

Jennifer Britton is the Senior Academic Program Manager for the Master of Software Engineering (MSE) program at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU).  Jennifer, along with a team of five staff members, manages all long-term planning and day-to-day aspects of the MSE programs. 

Before coming to CMU, she was the Assistant Director of Creative Writing at Northwestern University, where she was instrumental in the design and development of the Litowitz Creative Writing Graduate MFA+MA program. At Northwestern, Jennifer was the recipient of the Weinberg College Meteor award for excellence in a New Position in 2010 and the Dean’s Excellence Award in 2014. She was a fellow at Chapin residential college and served as co-chair of the Weinberg College Staff Advisory Board. 

Jennifer has also worked in the travel and hospitality industries and spent a year teaching English in South Korea. 

She has a BA in International Business from Illinois Wesleyan University and an MS in Communication from Northwestern University.

In her spare time, Jennifer is an avid knitter and makes as much of her winter wardrobe as possible. She loves to travel with her husband, Tom, and their beagle, Stevie. She lives in Pittsburgh, PA.
